Dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.

During the first week of October, we dropped off Dictionaries at the Grosse Ile Elementary School for the 3rd graders. They will use the dictionaries as part of their curriculum.
We also helped out at the Elementary Halloween Dance. The kids had a blast, and we made sure that everyone that got picked up safely.
A special thank you to the volunteers who came out to help hang the Veterans Banners on Macomb Street and for stepping up to help the VFW Commander box up and pack away the Halloween Decorations.
We know that many of the residents of Grosse Ile have supported our Flag Program over the years, and we appreciate your support. It is that time of year again for us to take them down for next season. Beginning after Veterans Day, you will notice the Flags being picked up by our members and volunteers. We will be storing them and replacing the ones that need replacing.
This year, we tried leaving the Flags out all season, which was 7 months long. From the third Saturday of May, for Armed Services Day, until the middle of November, for Veterans Day the Flags have been out withstanding the elements. Very few Flags have lasted throughout the season, with a majority of them being replaced at least once or twice.
With that being said, we will be going back to the same routine we had before with the Flags.
With the change, we will reduce the price of next year's Flag Subscription to $65 instead of $80.
The Kiwanis Club and the Recreation Commission are embarking on a campaign to replace the Playscape with a New Public Playground in a new location. The cost of acquiring this site and new improved play equipment will be very expensive, more than $225,000. We need all the help we can get in raising these funds for our children. We invite you to become a partner in the project to create a New Public Playground for the children of Grosse Ile. To make a Donation, please visit the link below: https://givebutter.com/Neo1MC

The Kiwanis Club of Grosse Ile is proud to bring the Hometown Heroes Banner program to our community. We are offering military tribute banners which are to be displayed along the streets of Macomb during the month of November for 2 years.
The banners are 18 x 36 inches and will be displayed on the green light poles. The cost is $125.00 for the banner and 2 months of display. To pay for the sponsorship of a banner, please click on this https://givebutter.com/v5lddJ
After two years, you can either have it rehung on Macomb for $25.00 or the banner will be returned to you. If you would like to have your banner rehung on Macomb for an additional year for $25, please click on this link:
If you do not have a specific veteran to honor but would still like to support the program, please click on the link below. These donations will be used to support the program and provide funding to supply banners honoring veterans selected by VFW Post 7310 or families without the financial means of purchasing a banner.
